On Wall Street: Soon Some Luxury Amongst The Schlock

New York magazine joins the party a bit late with this week's shopping feature about the rise of three luxury stores—Hermès, Thomas Pink, Tiffany & Co.—soon to open in the Financial District (the Post had this story back in April and The Observer in March). NY Mag does note that these stores diverge greatly from the current crop of less-than-chic downtown retail offerings, which include Aerosoles, Brooks Brothers, Borders, Radio Shack and Ann Taylor Loft. Per the piece, we finally get the predicted opening dates for two of the three anticipated stores: Hermès should be ready by June 21st and Thomas Pink, four days later on the 25th. Yes, only ten more days until Wall Streeters can buy all the status symbols their little hearts' desire.
