Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Today, the Alexander Plokhov and Phillip Lim collections hit Uniqlo, and we hear there's already a pretty long line of customers waiting to enter the store. Fashionista went early and ended up purchasing a few items, including the two dresses pictured above. You can see more of Lim's clothing for the Japanese retailer here; demand is high, so if you're hellbent on purchasing that plaid dress, head over today. Based upon early reports, we'd judge the Phillip Lim collection a success, but will anyone weigh in on the Alexander Plokhov offerings?
UPDATE: A reader answers our plea regarding the Plokhov collection, "pretty straightforward; ill-fitting; small sizes gone by noon. best were probably the white vest and the black shorts- but overall pretty disappointing nonetheless. then again, everything was too big by the time i got there, too. tanaka's collection was better, though."
Speaking of high/low collaborations, new summer styles from Laura Poretzky of Abaeté are now available at Payless stores. The shoes, bags and sunglasses are all very mod, done up in (fake?) patent leather and clear vinyl. If that's your style, may we recommend the Carnegie Flat.
