Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Launched on March 28, 2007, Racked is a blog about shopping, neighborhood stores and the retail scene of New York City. Like all Curbed sites, Racked comes at its world from the street up, covering everything from the newest Nolita boutiques to gas station gift shops in Queens. If it's a place that will take your money, Racked is here to tell you about it.
Racked is published by the Curbed Network, a collection of neighborhood blogs in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Our other sites are: Curbed, the network flagship and a blog about the real estate and neighborhoods of New York, the restaurant blog Eater, and, during the summer season, The Beach, which covers the Hamptons.
Racked relies on emails from readers, whose correspondence forms the lifeblood of the site. Anonymity will be assumed and protected. Reader tips can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. When you email us, the correspondence becomes the property of Racked/Curbed Network and we reserve the right to print it as content at our discretion unless you specifically tell us otherwise up front. We try like hell to respond to every email, but sometimes things fall through the cracks. Email again if you think we've ignored you unjustly.
PHOTO CONTRIBUTIONS AND USAGE
Nothing makes us happier than publishing an amazing photo, or camera phone snap, taken by one of our readers. When you email us photos, the photos become the property of Racked/Curbed Network and we reserve the right to print any and/or all at our discretion unless you specifically tell us otherwise up front. If you are sending us a photo for which you do not own the rights, please indicate as much, and the content owner, in your submission. Except where noted, all images that appear on Racked are property of Racked/Curbed Network. Photos may be reproduced online only, and provided that a hyperlinked photo credit to Racked is present as well. For all offline usage inquiries, please contact Ben Leventhal at email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org.
