Above the Fray details the goings on at some of the city's biggest sample sales. Had a fantastic (or less-than-fantastic) experience at a sale? Do let us know.

This just in from a trusted Racked tipster:

The Steven Alan sample sale is legit. I was there earlier today. When I first arrived, I was a little deflated. The first floor was full of Steven Alan items only, and there was just a lot of plaid, stripes, and button downs. Pretty boring, all in all. I then discovered that there was a downstairs, and that this floor was bursting with goods, mostly dresses. There was a variety of brands and great items for women ranging in size from 2-8, priced from $40-200. Lots of different styles of dresses—funky, casual, formal, office-appropriate.
The sale runs through the weekend, so there's still time to stop by.
