Worlds Collide: Payless Shoes Seen At Young Lions Benefit Last Night

Photographed by blogger Gastro Chic at the New York Public Library's Young Lions benefit last night, this is Alice + Olivia designer Stacey Bendet wearing a pair of remarkably clunky, sky-high shoes. It looks like Bendet is taking her designs for Payless out for a spin before the footwear debuts in stores in February (either that, or she's rocking a pair remarkably similar to those she designed for the chain). According to the mass retailer's website, a "funky, quirky edge combined with a modern fantasy vibe of Alice in Wonderland" was Bendet's inspiration for the collection. It's an interesting direction for Payless; how do you feel about the look?
