Though 101 Warren is still a construction zone (and will be until the Whole Foods opens next year), big-box retailers Bed Bath & Beyond and Barnes & Noble threw open the doors to their stores there this past weekend. The decision to open while workers still jackhammer away outside may have been a poor one. A reader writes: "I was shopping in the Tribeca bb&b on Tuesday. The building was shaking...literally like an earthquake. Things were falling off the shelves. Not everything was falling but enough stuff fell after enough shaking that I left without buying anything. The store employees were pretty blasé about it." Fun!
