Guess that progress hasn't been slow at the MePa Apple store after all. It was rumored that the hulking gadget emporium at 14th Street and Ninth Avenue would be opening on December 7th, but now we're hearing it may be a day later than that. Either way, we're only about a week and a half out now. Racked tipsters are already swarming the site; one checked in an hour ago with this report: "Was in the MPD around 9:30 this morning. Passed by the Apple store. Spoke to one of the people from the construction company and she mentioned a December 8th opening date." The plywood at this place has been locked up tighter than Hannibal Lecter in Silence of the Lambs, so we have yet to snap a good shot of the interior. If you possess one, don't hesitate to share the wealth.
