Spanish cheap-chic chain Mango has really exerted its presence in Soho from the get go. The company decided to cover their 8,000-square-foot store, going in at 561 Broadway, with plywood wrapped in a massive billboard of actress Penelope Cruz (who "designed" a collection for the store). Not too subtle. We have exciting news, though: The plywood finally came down this morning. A Racked source writes: "Inside: Shiny black terrazzo floor, lush green palms, sparkly lights. Outside: Penelope says 'Hasta la vista.'" We're sad to see Penelope and her endowments go, but look: Mango's just about ready to be shopped! The store opens tomorrow.
Adios, Penelope.
