Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
TRIBECA—Though we've spilled plenty of virtual ink about the shuttering of Barnes & Noble in Chelsea and on Astor Place, we haven't really touched upon the chain's soon-to-open outpost at 97 Warren Street. A reader writes: "Hey I've seen info on your site about the Barnes & Nobles at 22nd St and Astor closing, but hadn't yet seen anything about their new Tribeca location which is set to open November 28." Well, thank you for bringing it to our attention. Looks like they already have a few events lined up down there, including an Anthony Bourdain appearance on December 15th. Mark your calendars, people. [RackedWire Inbox]
GRAMMURAY—We feel like we should tell you all that the 7th on Sale HIV/AIDS benefit is happening this week, despite the fact that this information has been on just about every shopping/fashion site in the blogosphere. In the interest of being servicey (sigh), here are the details: a fancy gala kicks things off tomorrow night, then the thing opens to the public Friday thru Sunday at the 69th Regiment Armory on Lexington Avenue and 26th Street. The designer sample sale will most definitely be a shitshow, so prepare yourself if you plan on checking it out. You have to purchase a ticket to get in. [RackedWire]
