Storecasting: Yo Yohji!! How Ya Doin’?

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

This weekend, we dropped by One Gansevoort Street in MePa as the 3,300-square-foot storefront is slated to become a Yohji Yamamoto boutique. Curbed first reported store plans for the avant-garde Japanese designer last December; we swung by to see if construction would be completed by the all-important holiday shopping season around the corner.

Speaking of corners, the store is at the vortex of Gansevoort and West 13th Streets and is very? pointy. From the looks of things, we think that this one won’t be open until early 2008 at best.
