SOHO—This is exciting: the opening date for Japanese chain Muji's long-awaited Soho store has been revealed. According to a blurb on this stock page, the company's Broadway location will open on November 16 and their midtown store will be revealed in January. Whats more, Muji is also planning on opening a third NYC store in a yet-as-unnamed neighborhood next year. [Business Week]
UPPER WEST SIDE—Lucky Upper West Siders are going to be the first New Yorkers to get a Bluemercury store. We first mentioned that the product purveyor intended on opening a few NYC locations way back in June, when their general plans for expansion were announced. Now, via a Racked tipster, we hear that the company's first Manhattan outpost will be at 2305 Broadway between 83rd and 84th Streets, only a few blocks from Sephora's UWS shop. Anyone smell some (lightly fragranced) competition? [RackedWire Inbox]
