Designer Vivienne Tam's glossy flagship at 40 Mercer Street finally opened its doors yesterday at noon (it was initially slated to open September 19th). The 2,200-square-foot store is minimalistic, but does feature an elaborately-engraved antique teahouse; Tam plans on introducing tea service for shoppers at a later date. The space is stocked with skirts, jackets, vests and dresses priced in the hundreds, as well as an assortment of shoes and accessories, all which boast the Chinese-born designer's signature East-meets-West aesthetic. The designer plans on opening three more stores in the city. 40 Mercer St at Grand St; (212) 966-2398 [Racked Staff; WWD, subscription req; The Shophound]
