Yes, it's time again for a little thing called Mo' Banks, in which we profile new checking and saving spots around town. If you've spotted another bank opening, let us know. And now, on to the banks!
1) East Village: Get excited, East Villagers! That bright blue plywood you see on the northeast corner of Third Ave and 10th Street will be taken down soon to reveal a shiny new Commerce Bank. To get your heart pumping about this addition to the neighborhood, Commerce has made sure to advertise that they offer free coin counting. And there's also mention of prizes, though we're not sure what type of goodies the bank usually gives away (pens? lollipops?). Thrilling stuff. [Racked Staff]
2) Midtown West: That East Village location isn't all that Commerce has up its sleeve. Writes Elliman broker Robin Greenbaum: "Commerce Bank moving into former Duane Reade at 62nd & Broadway according to document visible in window." Nice snag, Greenbaum. There's a photo of that document after the jump. [Center Circle News]
