The Yumi Kim sample sale started yesterday afternoon at Chelsea Market, and those craving for just the slightest bit of summer will find respite in the New York City-based designer Kim Phan's bright, silky pieces that are currently on sale for up to 80% off retail prices.
Mixed on the racks are overstock from recent collections, older pieces identified by the label design, true samples tagged as such, and merchandise from Phan's other ventures, like the late Blessed Peacemakers.
Pricing here is simply structured and clearly marked on huge signs throughout the sale space (as well as in our Dealfeed). The vast majority of what you'll find are $75 silk dresses that range from mini to maxi and breezy tops, sleeveless and sleeved, for $50. Rompers and jumpsuits are also $75, and silk shorts and skirts are $50. The same pricing applies to the beaded and sequined pieces on the left-hand side. Take a look at the gallery above for examples of the print-happy designs you can take home.
Everything that we picked up from the racks, which are overflowing with how much they're holding, looked to be in perfect condition, minus a bit of rumpling. Lots of pieces also had size small tags—however, some styles can run big here. A sales associate also assured us that there's plenty of merchandise in all sizes that has yet to be put on the floor.
The sale is taking place in the back of Chelsea Market, across from Posman Books; you can enter at Tenth Avenue, or wind your way through from the Ninth Avenue entrance to avoid the cold. See the Dealfeed below for more information about the sale, which runs daily from 11am to 8pm through February 1st.
