Last night, we checked out the preview of the Veda sample sale, which is held in the brand's showroom just down the street from the boutique it opened last fall. Prices range from $25 to $625, with the majority of jackets being priced at $225 and $325. However, if you look carefully in the sample section, you could be rewarded with a serious discount.
The front of the sale is filled with racks of leather jackets. Some of our favorite pieces include the Veda x Pamela Love jacket for $425, available in red and purple, and a singular jean jacket with black leather sleeves for $225. We noticed that the many of the jackets we picked up were size small, but larger sizes were available for several styles. Click through the gallery above for several more jacket styles and pricing.
The sample section is in the back of the room, with one rack of jackets and another with mostly clothing, and we found some of the same styles that were in the front for much cheaper. For example, the purple version of the Veda x Pamela Love jacket was just $225 and a heavy green jacket with leather detail was $325 in the front of the room, but just $225 back here—and we didn't notice any damages on these pieces after a thorough inspection. There were also other great jackets not available in the front of the room, mostly priced at $125 and $225.
However, not all the sample pieces were in such great condition. A pair of white leather pants had a stain on the front, and a camel sweater with leather shoulder pads that was only $25 had a hole in the front (the same sweater in good condition was available in the front of the room for $125). Regardless, if you fit into sample sizes, you should probably head to this section first.
As for clothing, we found two different styles of leather pants for $225 and $425, leather leggings for $125, leather miniskirts in black and burgundy for $125, a leather pencil skirt for $125, and a bright-red miniskirt with black detail for $50. The sample section had a bigger selection of clothing, like camel-colored leather micro-shorts for $50 and several miniskirts for the same price.
There's hardly any accessories at this sale—there were just two styles of bags available on the front table that didn't look very noteworthy to us.
The friendly staff told us that there is some back stock that they'll be putting out as the sale progresses, but all sizes for currently-displayed styles are out on the floor. However, it wouldn't hurt to double-check with the staff if there's an item you're looking for in a different size.
Though the sale accepts both cash and credit, there is a cash discount—each item priced over $125 will be discounted an extra $25. You can take a freight elevator up to the brand's fifth floor office, or you can take the stairs and be rewarded with cheeky signage ("You're halfway to the Veda sample sale!") The space has one large mirror in the sample section, but no dressing room.
This year, the sale is also taking place online, though the staff assured us that the in-person sale has a more comprehensive collection. Check out the deal feed below for sale dates and times.
