Though Shakespeare & Co. certainly can't afford the rent hike at their Broadway space—triple what they're currently paying, said manager Margot Liddell—the bookstore is staying put until the very end. "The store has been for rent for a year," she added. "No one has rented the space. So we're here until we're not. We're not going anywhere until something happens and that's the truth."
