There's plenty of evidence of, um, active participation, shall we say, when we returned to the Rent the Runway sample sale today. Everything is an additional 30% off, but we noticed lots of little nicks and scratches on garments that could cost you more to repair than to buy the dress itself.
As for the stock, there's still plenty to choose from for both cocktail and floor-length special occasion dresses in sizes 0 through 16. We noticed Macrobologna dresses marked down to $120 from $550, and a black Allison Parris tutu dress for $89, down from $385.
There was also a champagne-colored Nicole Miller cocktail dress with puckering hem for $99, and a yellow Rachel Roy sheath for $45, albeit with a makeup stain—but that may be workable at nearly 75% off retail.
On the accessories tables, Halston Heritage box clutches are $86, marked down from $295, and Love Moschino box clutches are $72, down from $225. Broken clasps and missing appliqués forced us to put those back, but luckily the adjacent jewelry table was more promising.
We fell in love with the (flawless) Oscar de la Renta blanca rose ring for $66 (marked down from $185) and the Ciner teardrop crystal necklace at $98, down from $375. To compare, the Ciner necklace is $50 for a four-day rental.
If you want to try your luck finding a piece with minimal damage, the sale is running through Sunday—and there's a chance that even more discounts could be applied. Check our Dealfeed below for sale location and hours.—Kimberly Colvin
