The bi-annual Patrik Ervell sample sale starts at 12pm today and from what we saw at the friends and family preview last night, we're convinced it'll be crowded today. The extensive sweater selection and one-of-a-kind styles for men and women are marked at 60% to 90% off, similar to last season's sale.
The bulk of the merchandise is for men, while the women's selection is small but worth a visit. We were excited to see clothing for all seasons in a range of sizes.
For the men: One long rack of standard button down shirts range in price from $100-$150. Classic white shirts are on the lower end of the price scale, while heavy canvas styles in navy blue and novelty camo print were at the higher price point. Two racks of samples, all size medium, included denim shirts for $90 and short sleeve button downs for $60.
Transitional outerwear was a big hit among male shoppers, from quilted jackets for $150 to teddy bear fleeces for $400. We spotted quilted sweatshirts for $90 and a small section of quirky shorts, including a pair made of orange jacquard and another in coated cotton with an attached snap belt. There are also colorful blazers for $200-$250, a few pairs of jeans, and a great variety of dress pants.
Among the accessories, we saw canvas totes with leather details for $250 and nylon backpacks in navy blue and camo print for $290.
Sweater styles are offered in both men's and women's, and the styles included the signature pocket sweaters in lightweight linens for $120, which go up to $185 for baby alpaca. Cardigans are priced at $140 and chunky fisherman sweaters are around $200. If you don't see a sweater in your size, be sure to ask—there's more sweater stock in the back.
Now for the ladies: Classic button down shirts in oxford blue are $90, while delicate camisoles in spring pastel florals are $130. Stand-out pieces include a pair of black quilted pants for $140, a white jacquard blazer for $240, a black midi circle skirt in PVC for $245, and a shrunken bomber jacket in an understated camo print for $275 with a matching skirt for $200.
Conveniently located next door to Opening Ceremony, the small studio space only holds around 20 people at a time, so be sure to get there early or be prepared to wait. There are no fitting rooms, but there are plenty of mirrors throughout the sale with chairs strategically placed nearby to hold your pile. Check out the photos in the gallery for a closer look. Hours are 12pm—6pm daily through Sunday at 35 Howard Street, fourth floor.
