Fitness studio Pure Barre has opened its first Brooklyn studio in Cobble Hill at 266 Court Street, joining outposts in Union Square and the Upper West Side. According to their website, another is in the works for Williamsburg at 204 Wythe Avenue, just three blocks away from SoulCycle and a short walk from CrossFit Virtuosity.
If you've never taken a class, here's the gist: classes are a combination of floor work and "tiny isometric movements" at the ballet bar—and they're hard. 55-minute classes focus on typical problem ares: thighs, hips, abs, arms, and butt.
