The Brooklyn Flea has elected to leave Williamsburg's East River State Park. A handful of locals were not pleased when the Flea—and its Saturday food counterpart, Smorgasburg—moved to the park for the summer season, so founder Eric Demby has conceded the Sunday Flea in hopes of maintaining Saturday's Smorgasburg: "We decided that it made sense to compromise with some of the voices urging moderation in a move that we hope will secure the long-term future of Smorgasburg in the park on Saturdays."
For the time being, the Williamsburg leg of the Brooklyn Flea is running an indoor market through March at 80 N Fifth Street, and actively looking for a summer home. The park will no longer host any "large-scale commercial activities" on Sundays.
