Brooklyn is seeing a small flurry of fragrance openings with three new shops and one pop up all launched within about a month. Williamsburg will gain Nomaterra at 240 Kent Avenue early next month, and is already host to the Juniper Ridge pop-up shop within Barber & Supply. Meanwhile, Boerum Hill has seen Twisted Lily and Atelier Cologne open this season, both located on Atlantic Avenue.
Of the group, Twisted Lily is the only multi-brand boutique, focusing on all-natural products ranging from made-in-BK brands to international top shelf scents. Nomaterra and Juniper Ridge both create "location-based" fragrances: for the former that includes a Brooklyn Violet Leaf scent while the later literally distills the wilderness. Atelier Cologne's claim to fame is their high concentration of citrus, the hallmark of cologne itself.
