Yesterday, we checked in with the team at Comme des Garçons to find out if the brand's forthcoming Dover Street Market was still set for a December opening. We didn't hear much back about specifics, but it was confirmed that the store—which is headed for an unlikely-but-perfect location on Lexington Avenue in the Thirties, is still slated to open on time.
To recap, the space will clock in at 20,000 square feet, and it'll be filled with CDG-approved brands. Last year, Racked columnist Frank Gargione elaborated on why the spot in the "south end of Murray Hill's post-college college campus" is so perfect: "this seven-story monument to high end fashion will be open in about a year. And, you know what? It'll probably be great. Because no one will ever be in there besides a sprinkling of fashion diehards making express pilgrimages and (obviously) adventurous tourists."
