Valentino's new four-story townhouse opens on Madison Avenue today in the former home of Loro Piana. Stefano Sassi, CEO of Valentino Fashion Group SpA, tells WWD: "The feeling of the store provides the customer with a very intimate, very high-end, very luxurious approach," and adds that the store "is very crucial to us because it is the first one we are revamping in New York."
WWD notes that the location is the first Valentino store in the U.S. to host a special VIP suite, which is composed of three different rooms. It's Sassi's belief that the Madison Avenue outpost will attract the brand's local and "most affluent customer," whereas the upcoming Fifth Avenue store in the Takashimaya Building "will be more international."
