Welcome to our search for New York City's hottest trainer. Over the coming weeks, we'll profile twenty-two smoking candidates who work at local gyms and studios. Once you've gotten to know everyone, we'll host a March Madness-style showdown in which you get to vote for your favorite.

Kristin Kenney is a Senior Master Instructor at Revolve, a new Union Square cycling studio based out of Washington D.C. Her background includes gigs in the restaurant industry and public relations, but now she spends her days at the studio that offers three different cycling classes: Real Ride (traditional), Body Ride (cardio, strength, and flexibility), and RIP Ride (a hardcore class for full-on "fitness fanatics"). A diehard athlete, she's been described as "a lady in the streets but a freak in the cleats."
What prompted you to become a trainer? Did you ever have a different career in mind?
While still in college, I trained and taught, but also paid my tuition working front-of-house in a Michelin starred, NYC restaurant. I worked hard there and in PR/Marketing for years after graduating, eventually doing corporate marketing with Tiffany & Co. Like a lot of people, I lived to be with others in the gym, training and teaching, watching people transform mentally and physically.
I am so grateful for the superior level of service that I learned with the best of the best in hospitality and with Tiffany & Co. A lot was expected of me and now I deliver a unique, excellent and compelling service to my private clients and riders at Revolve, thanks to my prior experience.
What's one piece of advice everyone should hear before beginning a new workout?
I have two that are major! First, you are stronger than you know and capable of more than you can imagine. Second, you should visualize the results you want in a three dimensional way: what do you feel like, look like, and act like once you've achieved this goal. Wellness is deeper than a number on any scale. It is a feeling of mental and physical well-being, peace and contentment that transcends everything else.
Tell us a fun fact about you.
I grew up in Southeast Asia and make an Indonesian curry that will give you the sweats.
