The "Fire Island Share House Tales" column that made waves two weeks ago has been removed from the Daily Front Row's website. In case you missed it, the diary-style piece was authored by Corey Tuttle, a publicist at Swarovski Elements, chronicling a weekend at the beach with his fashion industry friends. They just happened to launch "a full-on press strategy and secured some sponsors to ensure our summer was fully stocked."
"Appalled" could sum up the general reaction in comments and on social media. Two of the housemates mentioned hold editorial postions at Conde Nast, which has guidelines that restrict accepting freebies from sponsors. WWD reports that Daily Front Row and Tuttle, "reached a mutual decision to delete the post out of concern for the jobs of the magazine staffers involved."
