Oak's annual warehouse sale is in its second day at the lower level of their Bond Street store. A sales associate told us that a lot of the merchandise was sold yesterday, but there was still a decent amount of shirts, dresses, jackets, and more to peruse when we got there this morning.
Most of what you'll find is from the store's brands, Oak Collection and A.OK. Women's basic white tees are $5, tanks are $20, and cardigans are $30—you'll have to sort through the boxes on the floor to find your size. We also found silk broom skirts with an asymmetrical hem for $50 (down from $225). The denim selection is still good today, and all pairs are $30.
Sift through the racks to find pieces from other high-end labels. We found a black Thakoon draped dress for $150, down from $624, and a long Maison Martin Margiela turtleneck dress for $100, down from $389.
A long skirt from Acne (the brand labeled it "romantic," but we might use a stronger adjective) is $100 (down from $658), and their velvet pants, $50, reminded us of our Juicy tracksuit days—which we certainly don't miss. And we were okay with what we thought was a shirtdress from Margiela—until we saw what looked like three legholes.
Along the back wall are several styles of shoes from brands including Liliana and Cheap Monday. We saw studded platforms wedges for $15, down from $120, but we're pretty sure we couldn't walk in them (check them out in the gallery). There's also a tiny selection of accessories, such as Wolford products and a singular belt. A bag labeled "Jewelry - $2.00" got us excited, but we only found a half-dozen of the same not-so-cute ring (also in the gallery).
Men have two racks to browse that include pants, shirts, and jackets. We liked a tan pair of Band of Outsiders pants for $50, down from $294, and an Oak coat with a wool shell for $75, down from $225. There's also a couple boxes with basic tees starting at $10.
Don't forget that this sale is cash only. You'll find all discounted prices marked on each item's tag. The staff said they don't have any more merchandise to put on the floor—so if you don't see your size, you're out of luck. The sale runs through Thursday evening.—Laura Gurfein
