With crop-top weather looming ahead, the Manhattan Vintage Clothing Show is gearing up to host an entire exhibit on the history of skin exposure. That's right: get a lesson on how the Victorians defined what it meant to be scantily clad. The press release explains:
While shocking, flesh-flashing fashion may seem like a modern phenomenon, the art of exposure has enthralled, intrigued and pushed boundaries for centuries. As lace, crochet and macramé enjoy a major runway resurgence, #Exposed delves into the history of the enduring trend and how it has evolved over time.
The entire show opens at the Metropolitan Pavilion on Friday, April 19th, though the #Exposed exhibit will become shoppable online tomorrow. If you'd rather see it all in person, head here for tickets.
