After a ten month-long wait, Equipment's first U.S. boutique has finally opened in Soho. As expected, the interior design fits in perfectly with the neighborhood's vibe—the French brand decided to go with an airy gallery aesthetic that feels very Euroopean, with its all-white walls and minimalist metal shelving.
Sweaters are stacked in the center of the room, and the signature blouses line the outer walls of the store, organized by color, and interspersed with additional ready-to-wear, like pajamas, silk tees, and tunics. Also included are funky frames and sunglasses designed with Garrett Leight. And if all those brightly colored buttondowns lead to a bout of sensory overload, there are two white leather chairs for lounging in the back.—Naomi Collett Ritz
