Yesterday evening, a tipster wrote in to let us know that the Margiela x H&M collection has been marked down at the new Time Warner location, which we assumed meant that if it's marked down at one, it's marked down at all. After some intense digging (see: spending the bulk of the morning on the phone with H&M staffers), we found that certain items from the collaboration are indeed marked down, but others are not.
Which pieces, however, appears to vary from store to store. For example, we were told that the leather jacket isn't on sale at the 86th Street store, but it is at the Seventh Avenue store near Penn Station. If you're still hungry for a particular item, we suggest calling ahead of time just to confirm.
One other thing we found out was that the Seventh Avenue store is hosting their own wackadoodle promotion: If you buy any regular H&M item that's $24.95 or more, you can take 50% off your Margiela x H&M purchase. So if what you're planning to buy already happens to be marked down, you can chop that number in half.
But here's one thing to keep in mind before you head out: It seems there's also been an issue with returns. Our tipster wrote in that they were denied a full return on their Margiela x H&M boots at the Time Warner store. A customer service representative reiterated the policy to our national site, which states that collaboration items are only returnable within seven days. However, it appears that Time Warner was doling out receipts with the standard 30-day rule at the launch party. Anyone else have any issues? Let us know in the comments below.
