Welcome to Shops Illustrated, a Racked feature in which artist Jennifer Hoyden sketches New York City stores. For each entry, she'll draw a street view, an interior look, and some items currently hanging on the racks.
When looking for a spot to open a boutique, Sharone Komoroff didn't get lost on her way to the Lower East Side. Her uptown shop on First Avenue is right where it's most needed: Inside, you'll find brands like Pip-Squeak Chapeau, oeuf, Ivan Grundahl, Atsuyo et Akiko, Grisal, Hazel Brown, and more that aren't typically found north of Houston Street.
The word "Pachute" means simple in Hebrew, and Komoroff keeps her collection tightly-edited but amply stocked. Cashmere, cords, and coats are predictably filling the shop right now, and make for perfect winter basics in neutral palettes and beautiful fabrics.
