Last week, the Brazilian footwear brand Schutz tweeted that it would be opening a store in Manhattan this fall, though they didn't say where. Today, WWD unsurprisingly reports that it'll be setting up shop at 655 Madison Avenue, between 60th and 61st Streets. The location will be the brand's first outside of Brazil, where it already has 35 stores.
The store will open on September 4th 6th (though Schutz's tweet originally said the 5th), and of course, they'll be hosting a Fashion's Night Out event. To celebrate their first stateside location, the brand will sell 15 fall styles that are exclusive to the New York store. The boutique will also carry women's apparel, bags, and other small accessories.
Alexandre Birman, the vice president of Schutz's parent company Arezzo&Co., explains that the new stores won't stop there. The brand is hoping to launch roughly one new store a week in Brazil, with an end goal of 50 stores in total by the end of the year. He tells WWD that New York City will be getting some extra attention soon, too: "We're prepared to pull the trigger in terms of financial structure and expand in 2013, still with a focus in New York."
