Christian Siriano's first store doesn't technically debut until September 5th, but once you've won Project Runway, it's hard to do anything quietly. WWD reports that the boutique, at 252 Elizabeth Street, opened its doors to customers last week.
Situated on the same block as Dolce Vita, Cynthia Vincent, and Tory Burch, the relatively small space (1,000 square feet) is supposed to help Siriano promote his sportswear to a city of shoppers who mostly know him for red-carpet gowns. As a result, the prices inside vary widely. You can walk out with a silk top for $120, or drop $2,000 on an evening gown. Also available: Christian Siriano for Payless heels, plus clutches and wallets to match.
Siriano says jewelery and housewares are coming soon, but first the shop has to make its grand entrance. Naturally, the opening party will take place on Fashion's Night Out, one day after the official launch.
