Welcome to Shops Illustrated, a Racked feature in which artist Jennifer Hoyden sketches New York City stores. For each entry, she'll draw a street view, an interior look, and some items currently hanging on the racks.
Designer Maria Cornejo keeps loyal customers curious with new colors and graphics, always applying them to her trademark tailored draping and asymmetrical collections. Because of that, there's a classic Maria Cornejo look that translates as arty with a capital A.
The brand's Bleecker Street shop is easy to miss, with only a slim sign hanging in the recessed entry. Once you're in, though, there's no mistaking who designed these clothes. If you're looking for single-sleeve, curve-friendly goddess dresses, second-skin leather pieces, and the occasional pop of a photographic print, you'll find no shortage of them inside.
