Yesterday afternoon, the Rag & Bone sample sale at Chelsea Market opened its doors early for "friends and family" of the label. In reality, that meant the general public and anyone else who passed by was allowed in. Naturally, it was chaos when we stopped by to check it out, but we have the scoop on what you can expect to find this time around at one of their biggest sales yet.
Let's start with the pricing. We've included the price lists in our photo gallery, but take note that everything is a bit more expensive than previous sales, since the discount only hits 60% off retail prices. Women's clothing is located toward the front, with pants blending into the men's section toward the back. If you can't find your size among the merchandise on the floor, ask for assistance—they will most likely have it in stock.
Jeans for both men and women are $95, and jean shorts are $75. Small sizes in women's denim were scarce after barely 30 minutes into the sale. Aside from regular denim, there were lots of different colored pants in shades of red, yellow, light pink, and navy. We liked the grey "Feather legging" as well as a pair of light pink ones, both $95.
Lux shoes are $350 and all others are $195, with the exception of flats that are $125. Here, you'll find a couple of lace-up boot styles, tie-up wedges, and slip-on flats. There's a wider variety of men shoes, though most styles are either brown or black. As far as accessories go, floppy hats are in the mix ($65), along with a couple of messenger bags. And utilizing the store's full potential, scarves ($65) are carefully tied along the stair railings.
Among the women's ready to wear, one of the standout items was a short black skirt with gold zippers for $125. Looking for blazers? Check them out in white, black, or blue for $250. We also found a really pretty blue layered dress ($125), and an ivory dress with a cut-out back (also $125). There are lots of maxi skirts in just about any color imaginable for $195.
If you haven't tried their tees yet, be sure to pick up at least one at half off ($40, originally $80). The tees come in a rainbow of colors including raspberry, mint, and mustard, and are very soft. There's also a table of knit sweaters ($125) and color blocked sweatshirts ($115).
For men, there were plenty of jackets and button downs. Greenfield blazers are $595, and Greenfield pants are $195. Coats and other outerwear are $295, shirts are $98, and lastly, ties are $35.
Other things you may want to know: The women's fitting rooms are parallel to the stairs, and the men's are back near the windows. Also, we were told that items would be restocked throughout the sale, so if you can't find the size you need, check back again later on. The sale runs until Sunday; see the dealfeed for more details.
Update: A previous version of this article reported that there weren't any fitting rooms, however Rag & Bone has let us know that thankfully, there are.
