Today, Steve Madden's Fifth Avenue store at 42nd Street is officially open for business. Perhaps you've already noticed its arrival, as the outside of the store is outfitted with nine framed LED screens which will be showcasing seasonal trends. Inside, Footwear News reports that the walls are elaborately covered in gold-leaf, in addition to graffiti of hearts and peace signs.
The store marks the brand's tenth location in Manhattan, if you're counting the two Steven stores on Broadway and Bleecker. And the new one is definitely in good company: There's a Zara also located on Fifth and 42nd (not to mention the brand new Zara that just opened up 10 blocks north), and on March 30th, Joe Fresh will debut its new flagship on Fifth and 53rd Street.
