Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Ladies and gentlemen, we're pleased to announce our first-ever Bodega Week, a full five days dedicated to that under-appreciated New York City institution, the humble bodega. Bodega Week will roll across all of the Curbed Network's New York sites, with Eater NY covering bodega food and Curbed NY discussing bodegas as they fit into the New York City landscape.
As for Racked, we're focusing, of course, on bodegas as retail. Stay tuned for shopping maps, interviews with bodega owners, recommendations from fashion insiders on their favorite bodegas, and much more. We'll also be helping Curbed determine the best bodega in the city.
Of course, it wouldn't be a real theme week without reader input. To be a part of the bodega festivities, feel free to email tips@racked.com with any of the following:
1.) Nominations for the best bodega in the city (please provide address and reasons for nomination)
2.) Crazy bodega stories or bodega secrets
3.) Photos of your favorite bodega cats, whether in-store or adoptedReady? Let's crack open a cold Four Loko and get this party started.
