The bizarre-o warm weather that's been just plaguing the city this winter has lead retailers to slash prices on heavy winter coats, the NYDN reports. At OVRA in Harlem, Converse sneakers have been selling faster than winter boots, and Modell's CEO Mitch Modell says this year they've sold more T-shirts than jackets.
The silver lining to all this crazy global warming is that winter jackets are now on sale! On the Bloomingdales website, there are currently 368 items of outerwear marked down for the store's five-day weekend sale. This Cole Haan mid-length down coat has been reduced to $237 from $475, and this Mackage coat is $336 from $560. Over at Saks, there are 97 different coats and jackets to choose from, like this 'S Max Mara puffer that looks a bit like a sleeping bag, for $870 (originally $1,450). In other news, it appears to be snowing.
