Daffy's has never been one to shy away from a marketing stunt, so it's not too surprising that the newly-opened Times Square store will incorporate a peep show into its advertising plan. A 10-by-12 foot screen will make an appearance above the store by next week that will star a virtual disrobing model. WWD explains how it works: When passerby place their hand on a specialized sensor, a curtain lifts on the screen to reveal a model, still clothed. She begins to remove layers for an entire minute, while messages like "Wanna see what 60% off looks like?" appear above her. You get where this is going.
So what do we say—Is that incentive enough to anyone else besides an adolescent boy to shop the new Daffy's? Oh, and did we mention that the new store is downstairs, as in, below street level?
