New York City has more stores than anyone could physically tackle, but somehow we always keep returning to the usual suspects. To break out of the rut, we've asked some local shopping and fashion gurus to provide their hidden retail gems—those unique stores around our fantastic city that we might not all know about. Cue the Beatles: We're about to get a little help from our friends.

RumbaTime Watches, co-founded by Jay Hartington, was launched in an effort to create a line of quirky and colorful watches that can be worn everywhere—and with everything. Completely unisex, Hartington's product is meant to be the perfect accessory for every occasion, including, as Hartington points out, the Kentucky Derby. To accompany his red silicone watch, he shops for Derby hats and other proper headgear at J.J. Hat Center.
J.J. Hat Center is one of my favorite shopping destinations. I get my Derby hat from them every year. They have tons of great driving caps and fedoras. I actually got a new driving cap a week or two ago and it's called the Tully by Jonathan Richards of Ireland. Not only does it go with everything, but it's made so incredibly well. Sometimes you just need the perfect, classic addition and J.J. Hats always seems to have something cool. The place has been on 5th Avenue for a hundred years so they must be doing something right!· J.J Hat Center [Official Site]
