Alexander Wang will be taking to the streets tonight to launch his fall 2011 ready-to-wear promo video. Wang tells WWD: "We've rented these trucks, and the video will be projected from the trucks onto the sides of buildings. Some will be roaming, some planted." Locations include spots on the Upper West Side, Meatpacking, and Soho, and since the videos will be playing for a whopping six hours, we assume they'd be pretty hard to miss.
The video features Brazilian-babe Raquel Zimmermann in what Wang refers to as a "Blair Witch”-ish setting, which was an abandoned factory in Red Hook. He also says: "We wanted something really gritty and raw to contrast with the polished richness of what we showed on fall runway," so his idea to present it guerrilla-style makes sense. In case you do end up missing it tonight, or just want to watch Zimmermann on loop over and over, the videos will be playing Thursday and Friday night as well.
