This October, the modern, urban-professional landscape that Club Monaco's men's department has capitalized on will be traded in for something a little more rustic. Following in the footsteps of J.Crew, the brand's Flatiron flagship will begin to incorporate heritage-brand items into its mix to create a whole new type of experience for the skinny-suit-and-tie wearing guy.
WWD reports that the Club Monaco flagship will be re-imagining certain nooks of the men's areas, and they'll even incorporate rotating pop-up shops that will highlight specific brands. The whole process is in partnership with Michael Williams, founder of the blog A Continuous Lean who's on board as a consultant. Among the brands asked to be involved are Tanner Goods, Wolverine footwear, Archival Clothing, Cunningham Classics sports equipment, American Optical, and several others.
Williams will even be collaborating with Club Monaco on higher price-point items, because after all—if you're making the rest of your store more casual, you've got to have something fancy to offer. Domestically-made suits will retail for $820, shirts for $139.50, and ties for $89. In addition, the décor of the new shops will include vintage furniture and found objects, which will also be up for sale. In short, if it's not bolted down, it could be yours.
