Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to talk about weddings: Where to have them, what to bring to them, what to wear to them, and even how to get out of them. From now until this Summer Friday, we'll be loading the site with nuptial content in honor of Racked's first probably-annual Wedding Week.
We know that not everybody gets starry-eyed at the idea of a big white gown. Not everybody wants to get married; not everybody is allowed to get married. But everybody gets invited to weddings, especially around this time of year, and we're determined to help make your wedding-going experience a good one whether you're the bride, the groom, or the groom's dentist's eighth cousin twice removed. As such, we've compiled shopping maps, dress guides, interviews with interesting vendors, and a photo series starring cute couples getting married at City Hall. We brought in an expert on bridal undergarments, tried to register at the Prada store, and even managed to talk a recently-married man into giving us an anonymous groom's perspective.
To top it all off, we're giving away a $500 Barneys gift card to the person who sends us the worst bridesmaid's dress photo. Just email your entry to tips@racked.com. Submissions will be accepted through midnight on Thursday, and we'll post the best ones as they roll in. Now let's step on the glass and get to it, shall we?
