Sad news for Sonia Rykiel enthusiasts and Upper East Siders alike: The brand's boutique on Madison Avenue will be closing on Saturday. But there is a silver lining: All of the remaining merchandise is being sold for 50% off. Madison Avenue Spy says that the store's already starting to look a little empty, but as of yesterday, there was still a "nice assortment" of good sweaters, and a few dresses (on sale for 550 from $1100) and T-shirts ($250 to $175) hanging around.
She also adds that the sales associates looked understandably "sullen," but that they insisted there would be a relocation once the proper spot was determined. So for now, cheer them up by spending some cash on what's left on the racks.
