While we were busy wandering through the Hermès and 3.1 Phillip Lim sales, our pal Mizhattan was over at the Dolce & Gabbana sample sale and found some lovely, albeit still pricey, pieces from everybody's favorite Italians. The sale runs through Sunday, and rumor has it that the ready-to-wear section has the best to offer—but be prepared to do a bit of math. Sale prices aren't marked on the tickets, so instead, discounts must be mentally subtracted according to date.
Items dated 2011 are 50% off, 2010 is 60% off, 2009 is 70% off, and following suit, anything from 2008 or older is dropped all the way down to 80% off. Don't expect discounts too steep just yet, as most of the merch is from 2009—but fingers crossed that history repeats itself, and the markdowns reach 90% off like they did at the last sale.
Standard sample sale rules apply: If you're a size 39 or above in shoes, the racks are your oyster, but those who are smaller sized will have some trouble. Lingerie apparently has only a few sizes but balances that out with heavy markdowns (30 bucks for a bra). And from the looks of it, the handbag selection is, er, pretty tacky, but if hot pink clutches and embellished denim's your thing, well then you're good to go.—Tiffany Yannetta
