The Bill Cunningham documentary opened at Film Forum yesterday, and to celebrate the occasion, DKNY has sponsored special Cunningham-themed popcorn bags. Film Forum staff told us that their supply should last for about half of the film's two-week engagement, so get there soon if you find them as adorable as we do.
Actually, it sounds like we should all be hurrying over to the theater, and not just for the popcorn bags. The movie, titled Bill Cunningham New York, has been getting terrific reviews. Cunningham is a fashion insider, but he lives like a monk. He'll sit through runway shows without ever lifting his camera but will ditch friends on the street to chase down a good shot. As Tom Scocca explains in an essay for Capital New York, Cunningham is a true democrat, pursuing beauty wherever he can find it.
