Warning, Brooklynites: Walking down Atlantic Avenue is about to get a lot more expensive. Fit-obsessed swimsuit line Malia Mills plans to open an outpost a few doors down from Steven Alan in Boerum Hill. The space, at 375 Atlantic Avenue between Hoyt and Bond, used to belong to eco-friendly furniture store Greenhouse, which has now moved down a few spots to 387 Atlantic.
Far be it from us to traffic in Boerum Hill stereotypes, but this set-up sounds sounds perfect for time-pressed new moms: Pop into Steven Alan, spend half an hour at Malia Mills trying to figure out a post-baby beachwear strategy, pick up some organic pillows at Greenhouse, and make it back home with little Winona still napping in her Maclaren. (Come to think of it, neighborhood demographics might help explain why Jodi Arnold recently flamed out on Atlantic; all that silk was gorgeous but not exactly baby-friendly.)
To celebrate the opening, the good people at Malia Mills are throwing a party this Saturday, March 12. Stop by for Prosecco and (says the invite) "good chi," as well as the chance to win a $500 gift certificate. Malia herself and the staff will be helping with fittings starting at 11am; the party officially starts that evening at 6pm.
