Looks like there is life after winning Bravo's reality competition Project Runway The Fashion Show. Season two winner Jeffrey Williams can take a cue from season one topper Anna McCraney, who recently opened her namesake boutique Annabelle in the former home of Tulips, which closed in December. Located on Stanton and Ludlow, the adorable jewel box of a shop boasts a minimalist white background contrasted with two-tone damask printed wallpaper, an irreverent antler chandelier, and pieces of art by artists from New York and Philly's Space 1026.
The majority of the racks are populated with house-label Annabelle designs, which continue her tendency towards bold prints and colors and subtle structure that we saw on the Fashion Show. The flared ikat print skirts ($170 and in purple, green and a sky blue/red palettes) jumped out from the groups of bold jewel-toned racer back silk tanks ($95). Also on the racks were body-con sleeveless dresses with ladder cut-out backs ($185 in black, white and stone), plus one-puff-sleeve mini-frocks ($175 in black and taupe).
Soft and buttery moto jackets ($590) and silky boxy Lego tees ($101) by Gar-de are mixed into the selection. Also on offer are a rainbow of Osborn oxfords and chukkas and handmade jewelry by K/LLER (ranging from $75 to $300).
Along with the art pieces on the wall, the inspired stock for sale also includes books and vinyl from Free News Projects out of Philadelphia. Our favorites title: "Hipsters I Met and Liked". How very apropos for the new shop's neighborhood.
