Grocery shopping in New York City has never been simple, but now, thanks to the good folks at Whole Foods Tribeca, things have just gotten a lot easier. The store has implemented a new personalized shopping program that acts as both a grocery list gathering system as well as a delivery service—as long as you live south of 14th Street.
The way it works is simple: Pay a visit to the Tribeca Whole Foods to complete a personal profile listing all your food preferences and needs: Veganism, nut allergies, gluten intolerance, dairy restrictions, whatever. Give them your credit card information (currently the only method of payment), and then either call or email the store to place your order. The concierge service will select your groceries on your behalf and deliver them to your front door within four hours for a $10 dollar fee.
The service began with a soft-launch last November in which the store only delivered to specific Tribeca residences. Due to its overwhelming success, the Whole Foods team expanded up the river in February, finally giving all residents below 14th Street a break from picking out their own gluten-free muffins.—Yale Breslin
