This is seriously going to alter our Lower East Side shopping adventures. Downtown staple In God We Trust has just closed the doors to their 350-square-foot store at 153 Ludlow Street. Bowery Boogie reported this morning that Shana Tabor's LES empire now has a leasing sign hanging about the entrance. Right now, there are farewell cards taped to the windows behind the security bars, each card stating the same message bidding their Ludlow jaunt adieu:
February 21, 2011 – As our lease comes to a close, the doors of our Lower East Side location will be closed for all of eternity. I know, we're sad too. Look out for our relocation! Meanwhile, shop online or another location. But while we are still nursing the sudden and way-too-soon demise of one of the Lower East Side's power players, there's still hope. As another sign reminds shoppers, In God We Trust has a Soho outpost at 264 Lafayette Street. And let's not forget about their two Brooklyn shops.
