And you thought an SUV was just for schlepping bulk toilet paper back home from CostCo.
This Saturday, Brooklyn Based will be creating a mobile pop-up shop with online marketplace The Shiny Squirrel by turning the trunk and backseats of a loaned Ford Edge into a traveling, locally based store. Trekking from Boerum Hill's Brooklyn Circus to Williamsburg for pit stops at Life Curated and the 3rd Ward Handmade Holiday Craft Fair, the car-store will be filled with indie-designed goodies like jewelry by Species by the Thousands and Digby & Iona, Wooden Sleepers menswear, LAYERxlayer backpacks, mgmy studio housewares and tons more.
The backseat of the car will house a few of online retailer Of A Kind's recent editions which are typically only available on the newly launched site, including a necklace by Cursive Design.
And, in pop-up and lazy holiday shopping firsts, this one is also willing to come directly to you. Tweet at @BrooklynBased or @ShinySquirrel during the travel extravaganza to request a certain stop this Saturday, and they just might swing on by. And to think, if they only carried Justin Bieber t-shirts and that book your Dad wanted, you'd be set for the season without even having to leave your hood.
